3rd Grade 29-12
Thirsty Thirds have come from behind to be victorious over the Liverpool Bulls in the major semi final. Thirds are going for back to back premierships in the Blunt Cup, last year they downed Liverpool 20-12.
Colts 13-9
Likewise Colts clawed their way back from 9-0 down at half time to slay Barker and book their spot in the Grand final.
The Grand Finals will be played on the 9th of September at TG Millner Oval Eastwood.
The club has finished 5th in the Club Championship which is a fantastic result and a vast improvement on season 2005. We have achieved our season goal of establishing our place in 2nd Division and look forward to further improving this result in 2007 – - the year we celebrate 40 years of the King’s Old Boys’ Rugby Club.
Both 3rd Grade and Colts are in Major-Semi’s, meaning that if (should read when!) they win this weekend they are straight into the Grand Final on 9 September at TG Millner Field.
This weekend both teams play at Macquarie Uni Sports Fields (Culloden & Talavera Roads, North Ryde). 3rd Grade commence at 12:35pm and face up to Liverpool. Colts play Barker in a much anticipated clash at 10am.
We will forward more details about entry passes etc as they come to hand, but for the moment I would encourage everyone in The Club to come down and support our 2 teams in their charge towards premiership glory.
For those of you here last year, you will recall that we are only in 2nd division this year because of a last minute penalty kick vs Petersham (thanks again Heath!) at the end of last season, so to move from 9th to 4th will be an awesome achievement!
The plan of attack this weekend looks something like this…
- Blacktown on Saturday at the Kingdome
- Retire to The Oak on Saturday night (trying to organise for a reply of the test to be shown)
- Return to The Oak on Sunday for our postponed Recovery Party / End of Regular Season Sunday Sippers
Saturday
We play Epping at Marsfield Park, Vimiera Rd Marsfield
Sunday
We play Lindfield at Tryon Reserve in Lindfield.
Kick off times for both days are as per normal.
With the cruise on Saturday night and City to Surf on Sunday we are likely to be in need of some extra players on Sunday. If you can drag a mate along to help out please let me know.
Can everyone who is unavailable for either day e-mail or call me and let me know today.
If there are players who you know are not on e-mail can you give them a ring and let them know.
Cheers,
Gloss
