Kings Old Boys' Rugby

These positions will be allocated on the day and preferably to new guys ( especially our new colts ) that I have not drafted in the latter trials. In the event that we are short in numbers for these trials and you wish to have a run, then by all means you will be welcome to do so but be aware of how many games you have been placed in the later before you burn all that energy !

After the games it is back to The Royal Oak for a massive night of fun including the Waratahs vs Highlanders game.

It should be pretty easy to get a truckload of ladies there given the location and the time of year etc.

Why should the Ladies come along?

  • A Beautiful sunny day in Centennial Park
  • Free champagne
  • Free cheese and crackers
  • A massive raffle with over 20 donated prizes (including Beauty Packs, Gift Vouchers etc)
  • Some quality rugby against Beecroft

So get yourself moving and send this e-mail to as many of your lady friends as you can.

Myself, Bassie, Duckman, Whitto, Manta and Dan Cassin will be talking to you soon about what help we need from you on the day. If you have any suggestions on how to improve the day please let us know.

Cheers
Gloss

You will have noticed that we are in the process of rebuilding the website which will be operational very shortly. The website will contain all the information you need to update you on where we are playing, what social functions are planned for the year, relevant contact details for your coaches and committee and many other features.

Pre-Season training has been underway for a month now and it has been pleasing to see how many blokes have been coming down. As always we have welcomed many new faces to the club, as well as welcoming back old faces for another year.

Our first trial match is on Saturday 17 March. We have been busily preparing the season behind the season and we are looking forward to a big one in 2007! Please make an effort to get down to training this Thursday and beyond to cement your place in a team. We will be putting on a BBQ after training for everyone this Thursday before heading over to the Kauri.

Our trial schedule for this season is as follows…

  1. 17 March vs Barker and UNSW: The David Phillips Sports Fields, Daceyville
  2. 24 March vs Briars and Petersham: Rothwell Park, Concord
  3. 31 March vs Beecroft and Lindfield: The Kingdome, Parramatta
  4. 6 April: Easter
  5. 14 April: Round 1

I look forward to see you down at training on Thursday. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee and coaches – particularly our fitness conditioners Steve Denning and Col Strachan – for all their efforts in the off and pre-seasons.
