Post Game Party

There will be a bus back to the Royal Oak Hotel after the game for more shenanigans into the evening.

please email me direct Peter Whittington. Kick-off is 8pm versus Beecroft at C A Redmond Field, Francis Avenue, Brighton-Le-Sands. I expect the weigh in will be more strongly enforced this week, so please make sure you are 85kgs tonight.

Colts played a game that was largely made up of u/21′s, but we unfortunately had to forfeit the result, even though we won the game that was played. We fully expect this situation will be rectified by this weekend so Colts also look set for a promising year. Again if you know of any under 21′s looking for a game, please invite them down to training this Thursday. Special thanks to the guys who have been recruiting for us and have assembled a strong core for our Colts team.

This weekend we play Beecroft. This is a home game for us, though we have moved the ground to McKay Oval in Centennial Park for our annual Ladies Day.

Teams are below, if you are not named but are playing please let me know ASAP by e-mail or on the number below. If you are named but unavailable also let me know.

Try and get there at least an hour before your game and support the grade below you – traffic on the Pacific Highway will be heavy so allow plenty of time.

If you know of any colts looking for a run get them down as we are very short of players.

See you there.

Cheers,
Gloss

Teams will be read out and obviously you will train in those teams

After training, everyone is going back to the Kauri to…

Pay your fees if you haven’t already ($130 students, $180 everyone else). I believe we are still the cheapest club to play for and your money gets you shorts, socks and all of your insurance for the year

Collect socks and shorts. This year to celebrate our 40th year, the committee made the decision that we will be playing in white shorts featuring a special commemorative logo. You will need to pay to collect your shorts and socks, so please bring along cash or a cheque for tomorrow night if you haven’t already paid. Thankyou to those club members who have already paid.

Jersey Presentation to first grade. This is an important night for the club and a great way to get the season underway.

Please make sure you hang around after training to participate in all of the above.

Last week the guys narrowly went down 3 – 5 to Forest in an entertaining game of footy. If you are under 85 kilograms yourself and keen for a run, please phone or email me directly and let me know.

We are playing Forest at 8:00pm. The venue is Melwood Oval, which is Melwood Ave, Forestville. PLEASE BE THERE NO LATER THAN 7:15PM – this will help in getting everyone into positions, allow for warm up, time to get weighed etc etc. It would be helpful for you to be there for the start of the 7pm game to get an idea how other teams play.

YOU WILL BE WEIGHED before you play. There is only a . 2 kg variance allowed for the scales to be wrong, so if you think you are pushing it – watch what you eat tomorrow! You can get weighed wearing absolutely nothing if it gets you to the right weight (apparently this is not uncommon? Weird…).

Games are 25 minute halves and have 5 minutes for half-time.

Some players may initially have to play out of position at this early stage. Your safety is first and foremost, however if you are asked to play out of position and you can assist, that will be appreciated.

For those new to the club, we will be handing out shorts and socks next Thursday night. So for the next 2 weeks, please wear (if you have them) blue shorts and socks.

Thanks again for making yourselves available – grab your mates and bring them on down for what i’m sure will be a fun night!
