At training we will be joined by Andrew Blades, courtesy of Eco Civil Constructions. We are fortunate to have Andrew’s services (let forget that he’s a Lindfield guy) and we are looking forward to a productive training session with him. As per usual beers after training will be at the Kauri – don’t forget the $10 meal and beer deal. Also, the Wallabies again play Wales this Saturday night. Support The Oak and head on over to the pub to watch the footy with your mates.
This Saturday we play Newport at The Kingdome. Again another tough fixture for us to look forward to and should be a great day of rugby. A reminder to all teams that you are all reserves for the grade above you, so at the very least allow time to stay around for one game. Supporting our other teams, helping out at the ground or on the BBQ, running water etc are all important aspects of belonging to a club. Make sure you make yourselves available to the Club Captain throughout the day to assist.
Finally, a reminder that next week is the Queens Birthday long weekend, so no footy (provided we don’t get rained off this weekend). Also, we will have a bye on the 7th July, with another wet weather week on the 28th July. If you are planning to go away to the snow or on holidays, please try and go away on these weekends where possible so we are not left with huge holes to fill in teams during this period.
See you on Thursday night.
So if you have dreamed of fronting up in the 1,2 or 3 jersey and need a few tip Thursday
5th grade kicks-off somewhere between 9:45am and 10am (still tbc), Colts at 10:45am and so on. The venue is Rothwell Park, located on Majors Bay Road at Concord.
After the presentations, the test match will be on at The Oak, so head on over and support our sponsor pub.
I am looking for some ‘volunteers’ to do a couple of rugby courses – Foundation course or Smart Rugby and level 1 Touch Judge. All new coaches and captains of teams need to do the smart rugby course (goes for a couple of hours). I also need a couple of people to complete the touch judge course.
Details are as follows…
Foundation Rugby (includes Smart Rugby and enables you to referee a game)
Session Info:
8.15am to 5.00pm, Sunday 27 May
Location:
NSWRU Office, Gold Members Car Park
Aussie Stadium, Driver Ave
Moore Park
Smart Rugby
Session Info:
6.30pm to 8.30pm, Monday 28 May
Location:
NSWRU Office, Gold Members Car Park
Aussie Stadium, Driver Ave
Moore Park
Level 1 Touch judge
Session Info:
6pm to 9pm, Monday 28 May
Location:
Woollahra Colleagues Club House
Manion Ave
Rose Bay
The club is required to have a certain number of people accredited to these courses (as mentioned, coaches are required to do Smart Rugby). We will pay for you to do the course and it is not a huge investment of your time – we certainly appreciate you doing it for the club.
Please volunteer yourself today and I will make the necessary arrangements. If I don’ have any takers, I will do the ‘volunteering’ for you on your behalf!
Cheers,
Whitto.
Our next games is on Wednesday, the 23/5 at 7.30pm against Dee Why at St Matthew’s Farm Reserve. Can all those who have been involved, as well as those who are interested to play let me know either by email or 0418 788 976.
This week we have Briars away. They are in the top 4 in all grades except colts so we will need to perform well on Saturday which means putting in a big effort on Thursday at training.
If you are unavailable this week can you let me know by Tuesday. Also if you were out last week and are back this week can you let me know by Tuesday.
If you can not make training make sure you let your coach or myself know in advance. If you just don’t show up there is a good chance you will lose your position.
Just a reminder that there is on U85s rugby on this week.

Getting to the Ground –
Your best exit off the M7 is the Quakers Hill Parkway exit (the next exit west of Sunny holt Road). Then head south on the Quakers Hill Parkway for about 1km and then go straight through the roundabout at the intersection with Richmond Rd. The Quakers Hill Parkway becomes Knox Rd at this point, which is the road that the entrance to Charlie Bali Reserve is on. To get to Charlie Bali Reserve, travel south on Knox Road for about 2km, going straight through two roundabouts, turn right into Nurragingy Reserve and follow the signs to Charlie Bali Reserve.
Presentations (Map Attached) -
It has been noted the lack of blokes staying back for presentations/Boat race after the game both at home and especially away fixtures. It
It is also the Super 14 final so all you Waratah supporters come down, have a free beer down at the Royal Oak Hotel
Attached is an article that appeared in this weeks edition of the Northern District Times. Cleary written by an Epping bloke who loves a good adjective, at least we can all agree on the first paragraph!
