Kings Got through the first rd on the flip of a coin toss due to unwanted rain interruptions. Kings then went on to defeat Colleagues (2005/06 winners) in the 2nd rd and than Knox old Boys (runners up 2006/07) in the semi Final. Cricketers Club of NSW were the other team to make the Grand Final and had previously beaten kings narrowly in a club fixture earlier in the year which made for a great final showdown.

Kobs, after winning the toss sent in CCNSW to bat and bowled and fielded well to reduce a strong batting lineup to 8-131 off 35 overs. Kobs in return recovered well from middle order jitters after being 6-60, in a thriller to pull off a win in the last over of the match from the 2nd last ball. Kings old boys 8-134.

Great win by the boys in only the clubs 3rd year of operations and the 2nd year the club has entered into the Jack Pace shield.

As you can see we have only 2 reserve forwards for KOBS Rug and none for KOBS Shack (someone please come up with better team names).

We really need to chase down a few more.

If you know any quality forwards who may want a run please call or e-mail Campbell Roger, James chauncy and James Millner and let them know who etc.

We are already chasing up Speedy, Simon Goodhew, Julian “Boggy” Ashmore and Sam Campbell.

Transport

Can everyone reply and let me know the following -

Whose car are you going in
What time are you leaving Sydney

There are a few blokes (me included) who will probably need a lift (if that is you also let me know) so make sure you get back to me on this before Friday so we can organise it.

Any questions please let me know.

Cheers,
Gloss

Whilst it will mainly be for those guys travelling to Orange everyone is more than welcome, especially since we have our first trial game of the 2008 season on Saturday against Forest and The Entrance.

Can everyone who is available and keen to play this weekend please let me know by return Campbell Rogers or 0433186103, so we can get an idea of numbers and try to put some rough teams together before Thursday night.

We will try and give every player at least two halves of 25 minutes.  First games will kick off at midday, starting with colts and then following onto grades as usual.  More info will follow at Thursday night training.

Any queries, let me know and hopefully see you all at training tonight.
