We have been invited by St Andrews College to have a friendly game this Wednesday Night.  It is a great opportunity to dust off the cobwebs from the long weekend and further enhance our growing relationship with Drews.

Venue: St Andrews College, Sydney Uni
Time: Arrive by 6:30pm for a 7pm kick off  (2 x 30 minute halves)
Beers: will be provided following the game

Ideally, we want to give Drews a good hitout with a team mainly consisting of 1st/2nd grade players as they are only a few weeks out from their annual Rawson Cup inter college competition and are keen for a tough hitout.  If anyone else is keen for a run, by all means let me know and if there’s space we’ll do our best to fit you in.

What I need ASAP this morning is a show of hands, so we can get a team together today.

The games have been rescheduled for the 7th of June, Queen’s Birthday.

Remember the ANZAC day Pub Crawl will start at the Royal Oak Hotel Double Bay,  11am.

We will be starting at the Oak at 11am. All colties will drink for free at the Oak.  We will then move onto the sheaf, the dudley and on from there. We aim to finish at the Royal (5 ways).

Due to expected protests, the route is subject to change at any time.  Each pub will have a theme and will be something different.

Your pub crawl captains, Mick Bligh, Jonno Rudds and myself will keep all crawlers entertained throughout the day.

We will need all hands on deck so if you are named in 5th grade (no game for 5ths this week) please come down and reserve for 4ths. There are several players who are 50/50 in the higher grades that may withdraw so we will need everyone there ready to play.

If the game is cancelled we will sending a group SMS out on Saturday morning at 9:45am. if you do not get an SMS we are playing.

If you have not registered this year or have changed mobile numbers recently please reply and let me know what your number is.

Registration & Fees

For those of you who still have not paid your registration fees online, give yourself a kick up the back side and log onto REGO PAGE HERE to confirm your payment by credit card or bring your money to Saturday’s game (Grade – $200 and Colts – $150) and give to either Matt Bonser, Ben Russell or Tom McFadyen. The club depends on your registration fees to provide you will an enjoyable social rugby experience, so don’t let us or your teammates down who have already paid.

Ladies Day – POSTPONED

Unfortunately we have had to postpone Ladies Day due to the expected rain on Saturday. The new date looks to be June 21 against Waverley. All games will still be played at McKay Oval (Centennial Park) and the bbq and bar facilities will operate as normal.

Ladies Night – This Saturday (Oak)

Don’t worry guys, the girls won’t miss out though as we have arranged a special Ladies Night to be held at the Royal Oak Hotel in Double Bay this Saturday. The festivities will begin from 5:30pm (Waratahs game live) and will continue all night.

All Ladies present will have the opportunity to purchase wristbands from myself for $20 which will give them a fine selection of Champagne, Red Wine and White Wine for the evening. There will also be some food platters provided by the Oak. The night will also double as the 2008 Season Launch for the club at the Oak, so round up the troops and spread the word around to ensure we get a good crew down for what should be a ripper of a night.

Raffle Prizes / Slient Auctions

Can everyone who has organised raffle prizes / auction items, please
bring these items to Saturday’s game as we will keep these in a safe
spot for you until June. Thank you for all of your efforts.

Anzac Day (Lest We Forget)

Anzac Day (next Friday) is always a day not to be missed on the Kobbies Social Calender and 2008 will be no different. We will begin the day with Lunch and 2-up at the Oak from Midday. From there we will visit the finest establishments that Paddington has to offer, settling in at the Royal Hotel in Paddington til late. Ladies are more than welcome to join us.

1st – 4th Grade are playing against Waverley at Waverley Oval – Cnr Park and Bondi Roads, Bondi with 4th Grade starting at Midday.

5th Grade are playing against Mosman at Woollahra Oval No. 3 – Manion Avenue, Rose Bay starting at 1:30pm.

Colts are playing against Roseville at Roseville Chase Oval – Cardigan Street, East Roseville starting at 10:45am.

Don’t forget the roster system that I mentioned before training last night. Each teams Tight Five is on duty tomorrow.  As we are playing all over the place, the duties have changed slightly.

1st Grade to look after 3rd Grade at 1pm
2nd Grade to look after 4th Grade at Midday
3rd Grade to look after 1st Grade at 3pm
4th Grade to look after 2nd Grade at 2pm

Unfortunately, for this week only, the reserves for Colts and 5th grade will need to organise and run water for their teams.
