Kings Old Boys' Rugby

Teams attached for tomorrows games v Epping at Sommerville Oval in Epping. We are still looking for a couple of players for 5th grade. If you have any mates looking for a run please let me know.

Team sheet

All grades are playing at Epping – game times as follows – please be there 1 hour before kickoff in your game.

5th Grade – 9:50am
Colts – 10:40am
4th Grade – Midday
3rd Grade – 12:50pm
2nd Grade – 2pm
1st Grade – 3:15pm

Bus
The bus will be leaving from Sydney Uni (Ross Street gates) at 9:15am. Given the strong numbers we have upgraded to a large bus so there will be plenty of room for all. Be there on time or you will be left behind.

Tip for the Colties
Being inexperienced young pups you probably have not been on a KOB’S bus trip before. Firstly it is a long day after playing at 10:45am and then drinking through until the end of first grade so it is probably best to steer clrear of getting in a round with Sarge! Secondly it can get might cold by 5pm in mid winter so bring a jumper and more importantly a stubby cooler to stop getting cold hands.

Sommerville Oval
Is located on Blaxland Road in Epping. It will take you about 30 mins from the city to drive there.

Subbies Web Site
For those that do not know the web site below is the official site for our comp. On the site you can see the tables, draw and details on where each ground is.

Next Week: Round 8 Vs Briars, at home

We are still looking for a couple of players for 5th grade so if you are someone you know is keen please let me know ASAP. 5ths are playing against Beecroft 6th grade at 10:30am at St Ives.

Registration

It is essential that you are registered before you play. If you are not registered you are not insured in case of serious injury. Additionally the club will lose points and be fined for playing unregistered players.

I forgot to talk about this last night, however the back five (centres, wingers and full back) are on water running and touch judge duty for this weekend.

Again, it is your responsibility to find a replacement if you can’t fulfil your time slot for any reason.

  • 1st Grade to look after 3rd Grade from 1pm
  • 2nd Grade to look after 4th Grade from Midday
  • 3rd Grade to look after Colts from 10:50am
  • 4th Grade to look after 1st Grade from 3:15pm
  • Colts to look after 2nd Grade from 2pm
  • 5th Grades reserves will need to look after their team

Training

Former Wallaby player and coach Andrew Blades will be at training this Thursday. Make sure you get along and learn from arguably the best forwards coach in Australia.

We had a great turnout last week and it showed with some strong results on the paddock. Again selections will be affected by your attendance at training. If you are unable to make it make sure you let me know.

Registration

We need every player to be registered before you take the field this weekend. If you have not registered make sure you do so by folloing the instructions below before Friday 5pm.

Fees

It is not fair on your mates if you have not paid fees and they have. Pull your wallet out of your pocket and sort it out this week if you have not paid. In the next few weeks players who have not paid fees will not be selected. If you are like Jono Rudds and have spent all your cash on Vodka Cruisers speak to Whitto or Matt Bonser and work out a payment plan.

G’day Kobbies,

A request received from Wesley  College XV, Syd Uni,  who are  playing a social game against old cols on Wednesday night.

Hoping you may wish to play on no 2 Oval  at Syd Uni wed 14th May, meet up 7pm game kick off 7.30. (No 2 Oval is just off, south side of Parramatta rd,   at Ross st gates (opposite Toyota and officeworks)
